Partners Behind 14 Top Prizes in November`s Leading Cannabis Competitions DNA Genetics, Emotek, and T.H.E. Melts All Recognized Again for Excellence Denver, CO / ACCESSWIRE / December 10, 2014 / United Cannabis Corp. (OTCBB: CNAB) (the “Company” or “United Cannabis”) today announced that three of its partners, DNA Genetics, Emotek and T.H.E. Melts, were awarded top prizes at this year’s Legends of Hash, High Times’ Amsterdam Cannabis Cup, and THC Championship.
Legends of Hash, the world’s premier non-solvent extract competition, is held each November in Amsterdam. The 14 year old, invitation-only event is officiated by a select panel comprising 50 of the world’s leading non-solvent extraction experts. In 2013, T.H.E Melts took 1st and 3rd place, and this year it won 2nd Place.
High Times‘ Cannabis Cup, the world’s preeminent cannabis festival, is also held each November in Amsterdam. Prizes are awarded based on scientific and peer review. In addition to the strenuous testing for potency (THC levels), medicinal properties (CBD levels) and contaminants, participants are reviewed by a panel of expert judges. The winners are widely viewed as the industry standard for the best cannabis strains and related products and services.
DNA Genetics’ proprietary strains earned six of the top prizes this year, winning awards in the Satvia, Indica, Non-Solvent Extracts, and Concentrates categories. Emotek and T.H.E. Melts employed the Company’s proprietary, solvent-free, cannabis-derived terpene extraction technique to process the DNA Genetics award-winning hash entries. The combination of extraction techniques results in a more efficient delivery of cannabinoids, which can be more effective for medical applications than the use of only flowers.
