Check this out – the stats never lie: – In August of 2012 the Dow traded less than a billion shares 14 out of 23 days, or 64% of the time and averaged 22,822,100 shares.

Now…when September rolls in, the volume skyrocketed. In September 2012 the Dow traded over a billion shares 18 of 19 days.

So what we saw was the Dow`s volume shoot up 43% from August to September. Quite impressive indeed.

Coincidence We think not! As we`re into mid-August, the volume we`re seeing has been muted and historically, this makes perfect sense.
