Are you a high acheiver Success-a-holic We are, and with the start of 2013 we decided to make this year the best year ever with {weekly} challenging to-do`s to propel us even further.
We know what your thinking, what does this have to do with stocks and finance We are just like you when it comes to acheiving our best, so here goes…….
Remember: A successful person is still working on their previous New Years resolutions by the time December 31st rolls around.
Theres no magic about when you start. The magic is in getting started! How many times have you said Ill get to it tomorrow Just in case you dont fully understand the impact of this statement, pay close attention: All you get in this life are an endless sequence of todays as there is no guarantee for the future.
If you decide to take one small step each day (such as making a phone call to a prospective client, or sending out an email), thats fine. But if you can knock out those steps five or ten minutes after you get out of bed which will leave time to enjoy the rest of your day — even better! The point is that week one is about establishing momentum.
Imagine that your goal is a large boulder sitting precariously on the top of a hill. If you give it a gentle nudge, it might roll a bit but wont make it all the way down the hill.
All thats required of you is that you give your boulder a little shove every day, so that when next exercise comes it will be a little further down the hill.
Exercise 1: Choose a Method to keep you motivated have heard the saying, Yesterday, you said tomorrow. Dont let that be you! Every day you need to remind yourself that today is the day to make a change.
Whether you want to lose weight, write a screenplay or a novel, or start a business, you need to find methods to keep yourself motivated and accountable.
Post a note where youll see it first thing in the morning and right before bed. Some suggested spots are the bathroom mirror, the coffee maker or the fridge somewhere prominent where you cant miss it. Write a statement of Today I will that moves you one step closer to your goal. Then after youve accomplished it that day, take it down before you go to bed. Repeat it the next morning. Keep a goals journal of the steps you achieved so you can review your accomplishments throughout the year.
Find someone who wants to achieve the same goal as much or more than you do, and make a pact to check in with each other every day. Choose the format youll use such as email, text, phone, shared drop box, or in person to keep you both accountable.
Hire someone to keep you on task such as a life coach, personal trainer, mentor or a group leader (such as a sponsor through AA, or programs that support the obstacles you have).
