Remember GEER Gained 500% Intra-day ….Can My Next Profile Also Rock Out I recently did some extensive research and found the following:
U.S. Treasuries are through the roof – and their yields are in the tank…
US markets can`t decide whether to rise on earnings news – or fall on poor housing starts, high gas prices, and flagging consumer sentiment…
Overseas investments are plagued by fears of a euro collapse… a China slow-down…
and Iranian and Middle-East uncertainty…
Is GOLD the answer, Therefore let`s dive right into one of my new “Holy Schmegma” alerts! GGSM – Company Overview:
GGSM is a U.S. based mining company (incorporated in Nevada) with a focus on the exploration, development and production of small scale alluvial gold and diamond mining projects in the country of Sierra Leone, West Africa.
The management team has identified several key companies with which to form Joint Venture Agreements for the exploitation of highly sought after gold and diamond resources in Sierra Leone. The Company report that they and have successfully executed on a number of very exciting projects with a local established mining company in Sierra Leone.
GGSM`s near term focus is on the full funding, development and production of its first three mining concessions. However, the company is in the process of seeking and adding more companies and concessions to its current mining portfolio, again within a particular focus on alluvial mining projects for precious metals and gemstones.
GGSM has an objective to become a leading mid-tier diamond and gold producer. They will do this by using their strong relationships to gain privileged access to proven resource rich alluvial mining territories in the Kono Region of Sierra Leone.
5 Key Take-aways for GGSM.OB (Gold and Gemstone Mining, Inc.) Key Take-away #1: The Market for the rough diamonds GGSM plans to mine is forecast to grow in the upcoming year.
Key Take-away #2: Bain & Company forecast a shortage of rough diamonds that will not meet antiquated demand – which should boost prices Key Take-away #3: GGSM has established strong “on the ground” relationships that have given them privileged access to promising mining concessions Key Take-away #4: GGSM has been assured they will have access to additional concessions to develop in Sierra Leone in the future.
Key Take-away #5: Management has experience in commodities, mining operations AND the ability and proven skills of building solid business relationships that bring opportunity to GGSM.
Future Projects:
The Company`s local partner has strong relationships with various Paramount Chiefs (land owners) and community leaders, along with a clear understanding of the political environment in Sierra Leone. Through these relationships GGSM has been given assurances from advanced discussions with the various paramount chiefs and community elders in Sierra Leone that these projects will be expanded upon once the joint venture operation has initiated full production.
Market Opportunity:
Sierra Leone, where GGSM will focus its efforts, is among the top diamond producing nations in the world, and mineral exports remain the main foreign currency earner.
The Country is also a major producer of gold.
The Kono area of Sierra Leone is renowned for the quality of diamonds produced.
The 970-carat Star of Sierra Leone was recovered from this area and regular discoveries of 100-carat plus diamonds are made. It is estimated that total diamond production from the Kono area is in excess of 9 million carats. Kono District is where the current three GGSM mining concessions lie.
Demand for Diamonds:
The two main uses for natural diamonds are in fine jewelry and industrial applications, but jewelry-grade diamonds account for 95 percent of the total value of natural diamonds.
Unlike with precious metals such as gold, silver or platinum or base metals like zinc or copper, no globally set prices for rough diamonds exist. Their prices are nontransparent and are set by major producers via sights and determined by tenders.
Rough-diamond prices have been showing a steady growth trend of about 3 percent per year. Access to the rough-diamond supply is one of the key competitive advantages in the industry.
Recent forecasts finds a likely global deficit in the supply-demand balance for rough diamonds over the next decade (see chart by Bain & Company above). Supply and demand theory suggests this situation could boost rough diamond prices.
Current Mining Projects:
GGSM has secured exclusive mining rights to over 105 acres of prime alluvial mining territory in the Kono District, Sierra Leone`s prominent diamond mining region.
The Sierra Leone project has a large number of mining concessions currently split across three separate Chiefdoms in Kono. These concessions are located on the banks of the Sewa River, which is the main diamond bearing river in Sierra Leone.
Alluvial gold is also present in practically all river/stream gravels throughout the country at varying grades. These are increasing up to 5 and even 10 g/T in streams running from the Nimini Hills, Gori Hills and several other hill ridges composed of the greenstone complex in which the GGSM Mining concessions reside.
Project Madina: 50 Acres situated on the banks of the Sewa River in the Nimiyama Chiefdom Project Nyamundu: 25 Acres of diamond and gold bearing land in the Nimikoro Chiefdom Project Kambaya: 30 Acres of diamond and gold bearing land in the Sandor Chiefdom with an additional 50 acres available upon commencing mining These properties are split across three separate Chiefdoms in the Kono District of Sierra Leone; the Nimiyama Sewafe, Nimikoro & Sandoh Chiefdoms.
This is located in the north eastern region of Sierra Leone. The concessions are located on the banks of the Sewa River, which is the main diamond bearing river in Sierra Leone, and also the Bagbe and Baafi rivers which flow together to form the Sewa River.
Mining Diamonds:
Alluvial diamonds is the term used to describe diamonds that have been removed from the primary source (Kimberlite) by natural erosive action over millions of years, and eventually deposited in a new environment such as a river bed, an ocean floor or a shoreline.
And alluvial diamond mining is the term used to describe the process through which diamonds are recovered from such deposits of sand, gravel and clay.
Alluvial diamond deposits are found on the Atlantic coast of South Africa and Namibia, as well as in some riverbeds in Angola, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Cote d`Ivoire, Guinea, Ghana, Liberia, Tanzania, Togo, Brazil, Venezuela, Guyana and South Africa.
Regulation / the Kimberley Process:
Sierra Leone is a founder member of the Kimberley Process for diamond exports promoted by the United Nations. This process brings together industry, governments and Non-Government Organizations (NGO`s) to provide certificates of origin for diamonds and to regulate exports. Since its introduction Sierra Leone has seen the value of legally mined diamond exports increase substantially.
As a participant in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, the Government of Sierra Leone has undertaken to implement the principles and internal controls recommended.
This includes having an extremely well controlled Chain of Custody, following the movement of our diamonds from each ore source through the mining, processing and export processes.
GSMM`s JV Company will be registered with a Small Scale Mining License from the Ministry of Mine and Mineral Resources in Sierra Leone.
Also, in relation to ongoing business operations and continued compliance with the regulations as set out in the Mines and Minerals Act of 2009 GGSM anticipates hiring a specialist advisor who has significant experience in complying with Government Regulation in Sierra Leone and specifically with the Ministry of Mines and Minerals.
Intellectual Property:
GGSM`s intellectual property transcends the traditional list which includes patent, copyrights and trademarks.
The proprietary “methods” include their keen ability to establish crucial relationships that will further their business interests. While this may seem trivial, it is not.
The GGSM management team has demonstrated that by having “feet on the ground” in Sierra Leone, and forming joint ventures with established players they will get advantaged treatment. However, they also hold copyrights on their website and the content therein.
Marketing Strategy:
GGSM strategy centers on the exploration of its current Joint Venture alluvial mining projects in Sierra Leone.
From there, they will expand into fresh concessions within known diamond & gold mining areas via their exclusive relationship with local partners, which provide privileged knowledge and access to Paramount Chiefs and Mining experts in Sierra Leone.
Competition:
GGSM competes with other exploration companies, independent producers and institutional and individual investors who are actively seeking to acquire mineral exploration properties throughout the world.
Competition for the acquisition of diamond and gold exploration interests can be intense with many exploration leases or concessions available in a competitive bidding process in which GSMM may lack the technological information or expertise available to other bidders.
The Company also plans to face completion by:
Keeping their costs low; Relying on the strength of management`s contacts; and Using their size and experience to their advantage by adapting quickly to changing market conditions or responding swiftly to potential opportunities.
Management:
Charmaine King – President and CEO: In January 2007 Charmaine began building – in Africa – a network of buyers, suppliers, mining companies and other contacts within precious metals, diamonds and gemstones with a view to trading these products and also for use in fashion. This led her to discover the need for lucrative funding in African Mining and the need for philanthropic work around mining projects.
Charmaine has since January 2008 worked independently as a consultant to mines, concession holders, and wholesalers and introducing them to investors and mining companies for collaboration and funding. Combining her education and experience in fashion and the arts with her links to mining companies, Charmaine has kept a focus on fine jewelry and high end fashion jeweler.
Charmaine currently holds a repertoire of buyers and suppliers of diamonds, gemstones and precious metals and great contacts within the African mining sector and will seek partnerships and funding for the GGSM mining projects and concessions. Charmaine also has experience in diamond, gemstone and precious metal trading and is looking forward to bring her skill to GGSMs board and assisting with the exploitation of the concessions.
Timothy Cocker – Chief Marketing Officer: From December 2009 until April 2012, Tim was CEO of a European startup company, where he was responsible for the entire management and organization of the company. Responsibilities and tasks included ensuring the company`s success in achieving its business goals of creating substantial value for its investors.
He was also responsible for securing multiple, strategic diamond and gold mining projects in Africa.
From January 2006 through January 2011, Tim Cocker was the CEO of The Last Chance Mining and Consulting where he worked in the field of negotiating high value commodities transactions between buyers and sellers utilizing his personal family knowledge and background in gold mining to develop a worldwide network of buyers and sellers in the commodity industry, specialized in transactions involving diamonds, gold, coal, iron ore, copper, oil and gas.
While brokering commodities deals, he also worked in an independent consultancy role from March 2005 until December 2009 identifying privately held companies with growth potential in an effort to assist them to further their growth and development through funding opportunities via public listings. He managed client liaison for corporate clients and assisted them in the process of their public float, to enhance their market capitalization, as well as provide post listing aftermarket support and investor relations.
Tom Tucker – Head of African Operations: As a son of a Kono Paramount Chief in Sierra Leone he has substantial experience of localized alluvial mining operations for various companies. In addition to Board level responsibilities, he is involved in general mining operations, logistics and procurement with particular emphasis on manpower management and control.
He has also been engaged in other business opportunities in Sierra Leone and West-Africa running a private corporate consultancy entity, providing management steward-ship and advice to both the public and private sector in West-Africa. Through his past and present experience he has developed a vast network of contacts from people and businesses on the ground up to the highest Government officials.
