Combat greenhouse gas emissions Combat pollution Improve energy security On February 11th, CLNO announced the signing of a term sheet with Phoenix Energy, a manufacturer and distributor of biomass-generated power plants.

Phoenix Energy has developed an eco-friendly system that converts 100% recyclable agricultural and wood waste into cleaner burning energy for heat and electricity, and other salable byproducts.

Under this agreement, CLNO has an option to acquire a 25% interest in Phoenix Energy`s asset base, which includes a fully constructed, 500 kilowatt biomass energy project in California. The construction phase of this project is complete, and is expected to become operational during the second quarter of 2011.

The fully constructed plant is the “first-of-its-kind to receive an Authority to Construct permit from the San Joaquin Air Pollution Control District in California`s Central Valley as well as a use permit from Merced County.” According to a February 14th update, CLNO`s plant is it its final stages and is awaiting its final parallel test to the utility. After completing this process, the plant will begin a start-up and testing period.

This CLNO update also tells us the Company can begin selling power to California`s “largest utilities under a fixed 15-year contract,” once its grid interconnection process is complete.
