optionsXpress background Market Recap Briefing.com In Play Acuity Brands acquires Winona Lighting, a provider of architectural and performance lighting products Co announced it has acquired for cash Winona Lighting who provides many of these products utilizing the LED technology. Winona Lighting will continue operations in its existing facility focusing on key customers and competencies. The acquisition is not expected to materially impact fiscal 2011 consolidated financial performance. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

S&P lifts modestly off second level support Highlighted secondary support for the S&P -17.4 in the 1168/1166 zone (Monday`s peak/62% retrace of Tues-Wed rally) in The Technical Take and have seen the index lift modest in recent trade after hitting the lower end of the zone (session low 1166). Nasdaq Comp -8.2 has held near support mentioned at 2433/2424 (session low 2422).
CBOT Agriculture and Ethanol and ICE Exchange Sugar Closing Prices December corn closed 2 cents lower to $5.6725 per bushel, January soybeans closed 12 cents higher at $11.99 per bushel, Dec wheat closed 2 cents lower at $7.0075 per bushel, November ethanol closed 0.007 cents higher at $2.206, March world sugar futures closed 0.44 cents higher to 27.94 cents.
Eastman Chem to declassify board and create independent lead director position, selection of James Rogers as Chairman and Gary Anderson as Lead Director effective Jan 1 Declassification will permit stockholders to vote annually for all directors. Currently, the three classes of directors are elected for staggered three-year terms. If stockholders approve the proposal to declassify the Board, beginning with the 2012 annual meeting stockholders will vote on the reelection of the directors with terms expiring, or the election of their successors, to one year terms.
