The mobile equipment maker plans to launch its BlackBerry 10 OS in the first quarter of current year. In his recent interview to a newspaper RIM CEO told that the company will opt for licensing the operating system to other vendors.
Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (ADR) (NYSE:EBR.B) 6.60 +0.68 (11.49%) on Jan. 14, announced that following the information disclosed to the market on January 31, 2011, its subsidiary Eletrosul Centrais Eletricas SA approved on January 11, 2013 approved the merger by incorporation of Artemis Transmissora de Energia SA. The Company is a holder of a 99.75% stake in the share capital of Eletrosul.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:NCLH) 26.95 +2.16 (8.71%) shares rose 32 percent in their Nasdaq debut on Friday. Shares opened at $25.10 after the company, backed by Apollo Global Management LLC and TPG, raised $446.5 million in its initial public offering.

Oi SA (ADR) (NYSE:OIBR) 3.86 -0.56 (-12.67%) has secured a loan of BRL5.4 billion (USD2.65 billion) from the countrys development bank BNDES. The funding will be used to helpOifulfil its investment plans until 2014, including the rollout of 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology.
Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARNA) 8.82 -0.95 (-9.72%) tumbled after the company said it received the 180-day list of outstanding issues from the European regulators related to its weight-loss drug Belviq.
OI S.A. (NYSE:OIBR.C) 4.38 -0.47 (-9.69%). Brazilian telecommunications giant Oi SA said Tuesday it had fired its chief executive after just 16 months on the job, replacing him with the company’s chairman. In its statement, Oi didn’t give any reasons for the leadership change.
II-VI, Inc. (NASDAQ:IIVI) 17.80 -1.87 (-9.51%) slumped after the maker of opto-electronic components posted second-quarter results that missed consensus and offered a downbeat full year view.
Impax Laboratories Inc. (NASDAQ:IPXL) 19.53 -1.49 (-7.09%) stock declined after Impax Pharmaceuticals, a division of Impax Laboratories, said it received a complete response letter from U.S. Food and Drug Administration on its New Drug Application or NDA for Rytary.
